Shasta Lake City

POPULATION:        10,179 (2009 Estimate)
INCORPORATED:  1993

Shasta Lake City
, the City of Growth, is located alongside Highway 5, gateway to Lake Shasta and Shasta Dam.  This young city, which has its roots firmly planted in the construction of Shasta Dam and was once known as Boomtown, is continuing to bloom, thanks to a variety of projects.  Massive improvements to Shasta Lake´s streets, sidewalks, and sewer and water systems are being upgraded and redesigned.  Many projects are blossoming, including beautification of the town´s main thoroughfare, Shasta Dam Boulevard and the new Community Resource Center. It is a safer environment for the kids to walk to school as the "Safe Routes" project is underway.

Residential growth continues to gain strength in Shasta Lake.  The Windsor Estates subdivision with its build-out, and the 160-home Deer Creek Manor development off Pine Grove Boulevard, is moving forward.  Shasta Lake City has 16 acres of parkland including 7 parks and 1 BMX bike park.

Enjoy the Damboree celebration and parade in May, the Garden Tour and Victorian Tea in June, the "3rd of July" celebration that celebrates both the birth of our nation and the birth of the city and the "Moonlight Madness" Fun Run in September.    You will not want to miss touring the incredible Shasta Dam or visiting the marinas on Lake Shasta with their many houseboat rentals.
