Palo Cedro

POPULATION:  4,000
LOCATION:  Seven miles east of Redding

Palo Cedro
is a small town beauty.  It is a peaceful community, located 7 miles east of Redding and 5 miles from the Redding Municipal Airport.  The towns of Bella Vista, Millville, Shingletown, Oak Run, Whitmore, and Round Mountain lie within a fifteen-mile radius.  Most of the kids that go to school in the area go to Foothill High School.

This area enjoys the best of country with many country estates and horse properties.  It's location and casual lifestyle makes Palo Cedro one of Redding's finest bedroom communities.  The town´s retail center is off Highway 44 with many new businesses opening.

This town has Cougar fever!   Foothill High School is located near the foothills of Lassen Volcanic National Park. The community (Cougar Country) fully supports Foothill Hill School from "Club Cougar" to competitve sports, regardless as to whether they have kids in the school.  Businesses all over town post signs cheering on Cougar athletic teams.

The schools in Palo Cedro are at the head of the class on education excellence.  The Redding Christian K-12 and the public North Cow Creek Elementary, Junction Elementary, and Junction Middle schools, continually post top scores while keeping education interesting with innovative projects and activities.

Palo Cedro is a unique place to live and raise a family and is well known as an equestrian community with a casual country lifestyle and small town friendliness. This growing community is attractive to homeowners because most of the land is spacious enough to support horses and livestock.

There is no end to the outdoor recreation in the area.  Within a 25 mile radius, you can enjoy swimming and boating at Shasta Lake, visiting the mysterious Shasta Caverns, or try your hand at sailing on Whiskeytown Lake, take a raft down the Sacramento River, enjoy a round of golf in the morning and visit the wonders of the Turtle Bay Museum in the afternoon.  It is also a scenic place for a bike ride, a quiet walk, or a horseback ride.
